OVERVIEW OF POSITION OF DUTIES: The Development Officer is responsible for meeting all revenue and fundraising targets for this segment of the overall marketing/development program. Enlisting the input and involvement of HODC team members and community leaders, the Development Officer works with the Director of Community Relations to identify and implement opportunities for involvement between HODC and the surrounding community, including its businesses, leaders, donors, and participants. To ensure cohesiveness across all community engagement activities, this position manages the Development Administrative Assistant. QUALIFICATIONS: Associate degree or Bachelor of Arts/Science degree preferred. Experience in marketing, fundraising or business development required. Demonstrates commitment to hospice philosophy of care. Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills. Displays knowledge of budgeting process and fundraising logistics. Shows strong public speaking skills. Possesses strong organizational skills. Understands how to manage and work closely with volunteers. Maintains ability to work closely with a variety of people while effectively using problem-solving skills. Understands referral patterns and sources. Proficiency and knowledge of MS Office software. Willingness to work as a team player within the department and with other departments and operational teams. Willing to work a flexible schedule, to include weekend health fairs and presentations. Maintains a current unrestricted North Carolina driver's license and minimum automobile liability insurance for the duration of employment.
