Job Description
American City Business Journals is seeking a well-organized,
detail oriented and self-motivated researcher to join its National
Content Team in Charlotte, North Carolina. This individual will be
a key member of a group responsible for national research
assignments as well as support for the collection, editing and
delivery of ACBJ's public records data prepared weekly for 40
newsrooms throughout the country.

This is an entry-level position that requires comfort with
multitasking and an aptitude for accuracy. We are looking for a
self-starter who can take direction while expressing a strong
curiosity and eagerness to learn. This person will be trained on
the Business Journals' research platforms and will have varied
opportunities for growth as a researcher and/or data journalist
within the Business Journals network of newsrooms.

Successful candidates will have a demonstrated appreciation for and
ability to maintain a workflow within specified deadlines while
also managing one-off requests and projects as they arise. Basic
financial literacy, strong news judgement, and a proven ability to
organize, analyze, and interpret data are pluses.
Duties
?Coordinate the completion, review and delivery of weekly
records files to a select number of Business Journals on a weekly
deadline schedule
?Research and collect bankruptcy filings from the US PACER
System
?Manage one-off research projects and assignments in support of
news coverage
?Gain an in-depth knowledge of business-specific and public records
databases
